There are many types of fonts, and Photoshop is not the only software that can identify them. A few years ago, a team of researchers at the University of Utah developed a program that can identify fonts using a set of rules they developed based on how fonts are used in text. The program is called Font Identification and it can be used to identify any type of font, including typefaces used in newspapers, books, and other printed materials. It’s not perfect, but it’s an interesting tool to have in your toolkit if you’re looking to improve your text recognition skills.
