There are a lot of people who say that illustrators need a degree in order to be successful. Some people even go as far as to say that illustrators should not be able to draw without one. But is this really true? Well, according to some studies, it seems that illustrators do in fact need a degree in order to be successful. For example, a study done by the National Cartoonists Society found that only about 25% of illustrators who worked in newspapers and magazines were self-taught. In fact, most of these illustrators had at least some form of education. So, if you’re thinking about getting into Illustration, don’t worry! You definitely don’t need a degree in order to be successful. In fact, many illustrators who have worked in the industry for years have been self-taught. So if you’re looking for someone who has already been through the experience and knows what they’re doing, you might want to look elsewhere.
