There are a few things you need to know in order to apply a layer style in Illustrator. First, you need to create a new layer and name it “Layer 1”. Next, select the “Gradient tool” and click on the black line at the bottom of the palette. Then, drag the gradient up until it reaches the top of your layer. Finally, click on the “End” button to close your layer.
