If you’re like most people, you probably use Illustrator to create layouts and graphics for your website or print projects. But if you want to take your work to the next level, you may want to learn how to change the default backline style in Illustrator to an outline style. Outlining is a great way to improve the clarity and organization of your graphics. It also makes them look more professional. To outline your graphics in Illustrator, follow these steps:
- Open a new document in Illustrator and select the object or objects that you want to outline.
- Select the Outline tool from the toolbar and click on one of the object’s corners (see image below).
- Drag out the outline until it covers all of the selected area (see image below).
- To adjust the outline’s thickness, drag one of its corners up or down (see image below).
- To add more outlines, repeat steps 2-4 until you have desired amount of outlines (see image below). ..
