If you’re like most people, you probably don’t bother checking the true mileage on your car. But it’s a good idea to do so every once in a while, especially if you’ve been driving your car for a long time. Here’s how to check the true mileage on your car:

  1. Park your car in a well-lit area.
  2. Start the engine and let it idle for about five minutes.
  3. Use a odometer reading tool to measure the distance between two points on the dashboard (for example, between the “A” and “T” marks). Record this number.
  4. Turn off the engine and remove the key from the ignition. Open the hood and look at the fuel gauge to find out how much fuel is left in the tank (this will be close to 3/4 of a tank). Record this number as well.
  5. Compare both odometer readings with what was recorded in step 3 (the difference between them should be equal to or greater than 1,000 miles). If it’s not, then your car has been driven incorrectly and you should take it into a mechanic for repairs or replacement of parts that may have worn out over time (such as tires or brakes). ..
