If your poodle has dirty ears, it’s time to take care of them. Cleaning a dog’s ears is an important part of keeping them healthy and clean. Here are four easy steps to follow:
- Gently clean the outer ear with a mild soap and warm water. Be sure to rinse well.
- If the ear is dirty inside, use a cotton ball or q-tip to remove any debris.
- Apply a small amount of petroleum jelly to the ear canal and insert the tip of your finger into it until you feel a gentle resistance (this will help keep the jelly in place). Gently work the jelly around until all of the dirt and wax are removed.
- Rinse off your fingers and ear cleaner, then dry off your dog’s ears thoroughly with a soft cloth or towel before putting on their usual collar and leash. ..
