Pool cues are one of the most popular items in a bar, and with good reason. They’re easy to use, and can be a lot of fun. But like any other piece of equipment, they need to be cleaned occasionally. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Remove the cue from the rack.
  2. If the cue has a ferrule, remove it by unscrewing it from the shaft.
  3. If there is no ferrule, use a screwdriver or knife to pry off the end cap (or “butterfly”) on one side of the shaft near where it joins the handle. Be careful not to damage the shaft or handle while doing this.
  4. Pour some mild soap into a small bowl or cup and add enough water to make a slurry. Soak the cue shaft for about 10 minutes, then rinse it off with water until clean. Don’t use harsh chemicals or abrasives on pool cues; these will damage them over time. ..
