If you have ever burned your hand on a hot pan, you know how important it is to clean the area as soon as possible. Glass pan fires are no different. If you don’t clean the area quickly, the heat from the pan will cause further damage to the glass and it may even break. Here are some tips on how to clean a burnt glass pan:
- Pour a pot of water onto the burner and set it to medium heat. When the water boils, add a pot of vinegar or lemon juice and set the pan aside for 5 minutes.
- Pour out all of the water from the pan and add fresh cold water to it. Add enough soap suds to cover all of the glass in the pan (at least 2 cups). Be sure not to get any soap on your hands or clothes!
- Use a scrubber or cloth to scrub all of the burnt glass off of the pan surface. Be sure not to get any soap on your hands or clothes!
- Rinse off any excess soap suds and dry off your hands and pan with a paper towel if necessary. Place your new, clean glass pan back on top of whatever was used before for storage (this will help prevent any further damage).
