Window air conditioning systems are a popular way to keep your home cool and comfortable. However, if you’re not careful, window air conditioning can also remove the pollen and other allergens from your room. To clean the AC unit without removing it, follow these steps:

  1. Open the AC unit’s door.
  2. Remove any obstructions from the window area by clearing away any debris or leaves that may have been placed there by previous occupants or by the wind.
  3. Pour a pot of boiling water onto the AC unit’s coil and wait until it begins to heat up.
  4. Place a cloth over one end of the coil and place your hand over the other end of the cloth to hold it in place while you turn on the AC unit. The cloth should be kept in place while you turn on the AC unit so that it doesn’t move around too much during cleaning process.
  5. Use a plunger to suction onto one end of each coil and pull them out of the water until all water is gone (you may need to do this several times). Be sure not to damage any parts of AC unit while doing this!
  6. Place all coils back into their respective pots of boiling water and wait for them to cool down before putting them back into use again (this will take about 10 minutes).
