Google has a history of collecting data on its users, and it’s not hard to see why. The search engine is one of the most popular tools on the internet, and its algorithms are constantly being tweaked to improve its results. However, there are some things you can do to clear your Google search history without having to go through the hassle of deleting everything manually. Here are four tips:
- Clear your cache: If you’ve been using Google Chrome or Firefox, clearing your cache will help remove any temporary files that may have been left behind from your previous searches. Just click on the three lines in the top right corner of the browser window and select “Clear Cache” from the menu that pops up.
- Clear your history: If you use Internet Explorer, clearing your history will remove all of your past searches from Microsoft’s servers as well as those conducted through other websites (like Google) that have integrated with IE’s search engine. To do this, open IE’s “Tools” menu and select “Internet Options…” From here, select the “History…” tab and click on the “Clear History…” button. Note: This won’t delete any personal data like passwords or credit card numbers – only web browsing information will be removed.
- Use a privacy browser: If you want to keep some information about your online activities private but still want to clear your Google search history, try using a privacy browser like Tor or Firefox with Private Browsing enabled (see our guide for more info). These browsers will keep track of which websites you visit but won’t store any personal data like passwords or credit card numbers on their own servers. However, if you want to clear all traces of your activity on these websites as well, you’ll need to use a separate privacy tool like Tor Browser Bundle or Privacy Bad ..
