If you’re an Amazon Alexa user, there’s a good chance you’ve heard of the feature called " deleting an Amazon Alexa account." This is a handy way to stop your Echo device from talking to Amazon Web Services (AWS) and other AWS services. To delete an Amazon Alexa account:

  1. Open the Echo app on your phone or computer.
  2. Tap on the three lines in the top left corner of the Echo app window. This will show you a list of devices that are connected to your account.
  3. Scroll down and tap on the “Delete” button at the bottom of the list.
  4. Your Echo device will ask if you want to delete all of its data, or just certain data from your account. Choose “All data.” Your device will then start deleting its data and messages from your Amazon Alexa account!
