If you find yourself stuck in outline mode more often than you’d like, there are a few tricks you can use to get out. Here are four ways to exit outline mode in Illustrator:
- Select the object or objects you want to outline and press CMD+O (Mac) or CTRL+O (Windows). This will open the Outline Options dialog box. From here, you can choose to either keep the selected objects outlines or turn them into paths.
- To quickly turn all of your objects into paths, press CMD+A (Mac) or CTRL+A (Windows). This will automatically create outlines for all of your selected objects.
- If you need to temporarily hide an object’s outline, simply select the object and then use the Hide Outline command from the Outline Options dialog box. This will temporarily disable the outline for that object. To restore it, simply select the object again and click on the Hide Outline button from the same dialog box.
- If none of these methods work for you, there is always a chance that Illustrator is just stuck in outline mode and there is no way to get out without restarting your computer altogether. In this case, it may be best to try reinstalling Illustrator or switching to a different version of Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator if possible ..
