Illustrator is a great tool for creating graphics, but it can be difficult to find the scale of an object. Here are four ways to find the scale of an object in Illustrator:
- Select the object and choose Object > Scale. The Scale dialog box will appear. In the Width field, type a value that represents the width of the object in inches. In the Height field, type a value that represents the height of the object in inches. The resulting scale will be in inches/inch.
- Select the object and choose Object > Transform > Scale (or press Ctrl+T). The Transform dialog box will appear. In the Width field, type a value that represents the width of the object in percent (100%). In the Height field, type a value that represents the height of the object in percent (100%). The resulting scale will be in percent/percent.
- Select all objects within a certain area and use Pathfinder to create an offset grid on your artboard (see below). Then, select one or more objects and use Object > Path > Offset Path to create an offset path from one corner of each grid square to another corner of another grid square (see below). This will create scaled paths for each selected object(s).
- Use Illustrator’s Free Transform tool (Ctrl+T) to resize or move individual objects without affecting other objects within your document or affecting their scales. ..
