Selecting a color in Photoshop can be a difficult task. There are so many options and combinations that it can be hard to know which one to use. Here are three tips to help you free select colors in Photoshop:

  1. Choose a color that is complementary to the one you want to select. This will help you easier see what color will work best for your project.
  2. Use the eyedropper tool to select a small amount of the color you want to use and then drag it over the area where you want the selection to be made. This will create a selection that is based on how much of the color has been dragged over.
  3. Use the marquee tool to make a selection that is based on just a few pixels and then press Command+V (or right-click, choose “vintage”). This will paste the selection into an area where other colors can be used without having to worry about their compatibility.
