If you want to import photos from your camera into Lightroom, you can use the Import dialog box or the File Import Assistant. The Import dialog box is usually more convenient, but the File Import Assistant can be faster if you have a lot of photos to import. To use the File Import Assistant:

  1. Open Lightroom and click on the Library tab.
  2. Click on the FileImportAssistant button (it looks like a little folder with an arrow pointing up).
  3. In the FileImportAssistant dialog box, select your photo file(s) and click on the Open button.
