If you’re looking to add a bit of interest to your Illustrator designs, you can create a checkered pattern using the Pathfinder tool. This tutorial will show you how to do it.

  1. Start by creating a new document in Illustrator and setting the size to 600px by 600px.
  2. Select the Pathfinder tool from the toolbar and click on the artboard to select it.
  3. Click on the Horizontal Line button ( ) and then click on the top left corner of the artboard to create a new line.
  4. Drag this line downwards until it intersects with the first line created in step 2, as shown in Figure 1 below: Figure 1: The Pathfinder tool has been used to create a new line that intersects with the first one created in step 2. 5. Release your mouse button and then click on the Horizontal Line button ( ) again to deselect it. 7. Select all four lines by clicking on their respective buttons ( ). 9. Click on Object > Path > Make Path from Selection ( ). 10.
