When you want to merge two or more layers in Illustrator, you can use the Merge command. This command lets you combine the data from the two or more layers into a single layer. The Merge command is available in the Layers palette, and it’s located at the bottom of the palette. To merge two or more layers in Illustrator, follow these steps:
- Open a new file and open the Layers palette.
- In the Layers palette, click on one of the layers you want to merge with another layer.
- Drag and drop the data from the other layer onto the first layer.
- Release your mouse button when you’re done merging data onto your new layer.
