If you’re like most people, you probably use Photoshop to create graphics and illustrations. But if you want to move a layer in Photoshop, there are a few things you need to know. First, the layer’s name is the name that appears in the upper-left corner of the screen when you open it. This is usually called the “layer name.” Second, if your layer is named “background,” then Photoshop will automatically create a new background layer for it. If your layer is named “text,” then Photoshop will automatically create a new text layer for it. Third, if your layer is named “image,” then Photoshop will automatically create a new image for it. If your layer is named “mask,” then Photoshop will automatically create a new mask for it. Fourth, if your layer has an attribute called “opacity,” then Photoshop will automatically set that attribute to 100% when it creates the new image or mask for it. (This happens even if the original image or mask has a lower opacity.)
