If you’re a PlayStation 4 gamer, there’s a good chance you’ve used the console’s built-in camera to capture some amazing gameplay moments. But if you’re like most people, you probably don’t have a PC handy to record those moments. Fortunately, there are ways to do this without having to go through the hassle of buying an external recorder or even using an app like Xbox One Game Capture. Here are three easy ways to record PS4 gameplay on your PC:
- Use PlayStation 4’s built-in camera: This is the simplest and most common way to capture PS4 gameplay. Just open up the PlayStation 4’s system menu and select “Camera.” Then use the directional pad or touchpad to move the camera around your room or game area. You can also use the “A” button to take pictures of your game play while it’s in progress.
- Use an external USB drive: If you don’t have a PlayStation 4, then you can still use this method by connecting your computer to your TV and using an external USB drive as your recording device. Once your USB drive is connected, open up Windows Explorer and browse for “PS4 Camera.” Once you find it, drag and drop the file onto the explorer window so that it becomes a part of your desktop.
- Use an app like Xbox One Game Capture: If you’re not comfortable using Windows Explorer or aren’t able to connect your computer directly to your TV, then using an app like Xbox One Game Capture may be a better option for you. To start Xbox One Game Capture, open up Microsoft Edge and type “Xbox One Game Capture.” Then click on the green button next to it so that it becomes active. Once Game Capture is active, just press any of the buttons on your controller (except “A” which will take pictures automatically) and enjoy some amazing PS4 gameplay footage!
