If you’re ever in need of a quick fix, there’s no need to go to the mechanic. Rev a car from the engine bay. This is a simple and easy process that can help your car run better and look more reliable.

  1. Open the hood of your car and remove the battery cover.
  2. Remove the spark plugs from the engine by using a plunger or screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the plugs or their wires.
  3. Disconnect all of the cables from your car’s electrical system by using pliers, wire cutters, or scissors.
  4. Remove any screws that hold down the air filter cover on your car’s side panel (if there are any). If there are none, just pop them off with a hammer or screwdriver while you’re still holding onto them!
  5. Lift up on one end of each air filter cover and pull it off completely (you may have to do this in two different directions). Be sure not to damage either side of the cover!
  6. Place one air filter cover on each side of your car’s air intake manifold (if there are any). Make sure they’re facing inwards so you can see where they should go!
  7. Reattach all of the cables and screws that were removed earlier (or use pliers, wire cutters, or scissors to reattach them). You’re now ready to start revving your car!
