If you want to create a complex image with multiple layers, you’ll need to use Photoshop. Here’s how to select multiple layers:
- Open Photoshop and create a new document.
- Select the “Layers” menu and choose “New Layer.”
- Name the new layer “Layer 1.”
- Select the “Layer 1” layer and click on the “Add Layer Mask” button (it looks like a black square with a white cross in it).
- Choose a color that will be used as your mask and click on the “OK” button.
- Select the “Layer 1” mask and click on the “Delete Layer Mask” button (it looks like a trash can with an X in it).
- Now you’ll need to add another layer above “Layer 1.” Name this new layer “Layer 2.”
- Select the “Layer 2” layer and click on the “Add Layer Mask” button (it looks like a black square with a white cross in it).
- Choose another color that will be used as your mask and click on the “OK” button.
- Select the masked layers (“Layer 1,” masked; Layer 2," masked") and press Ctrl+J (Windows) or Command+J (Mac) to merge them together into one image file, leaving any extra white space at the top of your document where your layers were merged off-screen intact! ..
