If your car’s radiator is frozen, you’ll need to thaw it out before you can fix the problem. Here are four steps to unfreezing a car radiator:

  1. Remove the cap on the radiator and pour a pot of boiling water over the top. Let it cool for a few minutes before pouring it off.
  2. Open all of the hoses and connectors that lead to the radiator, then disconnect them one by one.
  3. Place a large container filled with ice on top of the radiator and let it sit for about an hour.
