If your car won’t start, there’s a good chance that you need to use a screwdriver to start it. Here’s how:

  1. Open the hood of your car.
  2. Find the battery and unscrew it.
  3. Find the starter motor and unscrew it.
  4. Remove the screws that hold the starter motor in place and set them aside.
  5. Insert the screwdriver into one of the holes on either side of the starter motor and turn it until it starts to spin freely (it should only take a few turns). Be careful not to over-turn the screwdriver, or you may damage your motor!
  6. Replace the screws that held the starter motor in place and reattach the battery cable. Close up your hood and start your car! ..
